Part of the same artwork. Eve is born from the side of Adam. Literally thus? No! Essentially in this manner? Neither! Yet, the story of creation and the rise and fall of mankind, as fictitiously depicted in the Sistine Chapple, had, and still has, a very strong influence on the mindset of  Western society. It is a good indicator of the lasting strength of imagery and its message.  In view of the formative images we have contemplated, we are reminded again that each generation has been admonished to states its beliefs in its own way. Although the United Church has formulated a new creed in the 60's, it is since the 40's that it has engaged in a church wide study of its fundamental and essential beliefs.
